Remembrance words

Dear friends and colleagues,

My thoughts are with you today, in this commemoration of our beloved
friend and colleague Jérôme Monnot . Jérôme has been one of the most
brilliant and kindest persons I have ever known. I feel blessed and
privileged for having met him and having worked with him. The sadness
of his loss is soothed only by the remembrance of his playful smile
and amusing jokes. Despite the severe difficulties he was facing, he
has always been amazingly productive as a researcher, and remarkably
charming and generous as a person. I will always remember him as an
exemplary fighter both in science and life.
